Hello World
Hey everyone! This is my first real blog post, and I’m excited to share how I got into web development and what really helped me dive deep into it. I hope you enjoy.

I’ve always been curious about how things work on different web pages — how a slide animates in on hover, how background colors can create unique layouts, how smooth transitions make interactions feel seamless, and much more. The fact that you can start with a blank page and express basically anything is what got me hooked on web development, and I’m still content (and excited) about it today.
At first, it seemed pretty easy to get into the development side of things. But as I got into the flow and dove deeper, I realized there are far more intricacies than what’s seen on the screen. That motivated me even more to pursue this and truly understand how things work.
Over time, I started exploring how things work behind the scenes — how servers respond, how data moves around, and how to make everything run smoothly without slowing the user down. That’s when I started working on the backend too, and eventually, I became comfortable handling both sides. Now, I’d call myself a full-stack developer and I like making things look good and work well under the hood.
How I Learned
Here are some of the key resources that shaped my skills:
Web Development Bootcamp by Colt Steele - My first big leap into the world of web development.
Understand Javascript by Anthony Alicea - This deep dive that made me truly get JavaScript and beyond.
Understanding Semantic HTML and CSS by Anthony Alicea - Probably the most crucial one for me. This course taught me why certain things are done the way they are, and revealed the importance of standards and working drafts—the very foundation of the web.
React - Maximilian Schwarzmüller - Showed me how to think in components, manage state, and build scalable, interactive UIs with a framework.
MongoDB - Maximilian Schwarzmüller - This was my entry into the world of NoSQL databases.
Professional React & Next.js - ByteGrad - Helped me catch up with the latest practices and understand the most effective ways to develop modern web applications.
These helped shape how I approach building for the web and gave me the foundation to keep improving every day. I’ve learned that no skill is mastered overnight — progress comes step by step 🫡
Looking Ahead
I’m thinking about adding a commenting feature — a more direct way for readers to interact with my posts. I also plan to create a separate tab for list of links I like and think could be useful for anyone visiting my site — not just development-related ones, either. And maybe… a newsletter!
This is just the start — there’s always more to learn, and I’m excited to keep building, breaking, and improving along the way, sharing my updates here as I go.
I’ll leave you with one of my favourite quotes:
He Who Would Climb a Ladder Must Begin at the Bottom.
